Job Description
Set-up, adjust and operate a variety of machine tools (including CNC, lathes, milling machines, boring machines and grinders) to perform progressive machining operations on a diversified line of close tolerance work (metallic and non-metallic work pieces) requiring a high degree of skill and machining techniques.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Read blueprints or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, dept of cut, etc.
· Determine sequence of operations. Identify conformity of material requirements.
· Use a variety of precision measuring devices to set up and adjust work and verify conformance of work to specifications.
· Grind and adapt tooling and attachments for special work requirements.
· Diagnose and rectify tooling problems and machine malfunctions.
· Perform routine maintenance on machines and tooling.
· Able to hold tolerances as close as .0005”.
· Accurately account for materials per the Bill of Material and ensure that those materials are issued properly to the job.
· Must read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
· Move materials with hand trucks, forklift trucks and cranes as required.
· Maintain a clean and safe working area.
· Must observe all safety regulations. May be required to perform various other functions or duties as directed by supervisor.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· High School Diploma or Equivalent
· 1 or more years of verifiable experience in using a CNC Machine or Manual Machining
