Position Description
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience estimating the machining and fabrication of steel.
- Requires excellent math skills.
- Ability to read blue prints with weld symbols and dimensional tolerances.
- A very organized and detail oriented person.
- Can communicate clearly and effectively with customers, suppliers, and co-workers.
- Review drawings/prints, determine materials required with stock size and send RFQ’s to suppliers requesting prices.
- Determine any subcontracting requirements and send out for pricing from those vendors.
- Detail the processes required to manufacture each part and allocate hours to each process.
- Call/email customers with questions concerning their request for quotation.
- Once all information is together, send quote to customers and answer any questions they may have about the quote or other items pertaining to jobs.
- Follow Up with customers on quotes.
