Position Description
Minimum 3-5 years of experience estimating the machining and fabrication of steel.
Requires excellent math skills.
Ability to read blue prints with weld symbols and dimensional tolerances.
A very organized and detail oriented person.
Can communicate clearly and effectively with customers, suppliers, and co-workers.
Review drawings/prints, determine materials required with stock size and send RFQ’s to suppliers requesting prices.
Determine any subcontracting requirements and send out for pricing from those vendors.
Detail the processes required to manufacture each part and allocate hours to each process.
Call/email customers with questions concerning their request for quotation.
Once all information is together, send quote to customers and answer any questions they may have about the quote or other items pertaining to jobs.
Follow Up with customers on quotes.
